What is the condition?
Profhilo is a brand name, not a diagnosis. It is commonly discussed for dryness, roughness, fine lines and mild-to-moderate laxity of the face, neck or selected body areas.
The exact product variant, indication and local authorisation are confirmed from the unopened label before treatment. Profhilo is not a cream or a blood-derived preparation.12

If the intended product is original Profhilo® from IBSA, published information describes a sterile, prefilled 2 mL syringe containing 64 mg of hyaluronic acid.
Published examples use intradermal injections (into the skin), but these examples are not a prescription for our clinic.

What outcome can you expect?
The intended aim is a possible improvement in hydration, texture, perceived firmness, elasticity and mild laxity, rather than major volume replacement.
A small open (non-blinded) neck study reported measurement changes after two treatments, but it was not a blinded comparative trial and does not guarantee the same result for every person.
Profhilo is not an instant result, a cure or a permanent treatment.24

Aftercare and long-term support
- Small bumps, redness, tenderness, swelling or bruising can occur.
- Follow your written instructions, avoid rubbing or unnecessary massage, and avoid heat, strenuous exercise, swimming and makeup as advised.
- Contact the clinic for persistent or increasing swelling, warmth, redness, pain or lumps.
- Seek immediate care for severe pain, pale or blue skin, vision change, facial weakness, speech difficulty or other neurological symptoms.
Suitability, limitations and safety
This is a medical injection requiring a qualified, licensed clinician, sterile supplies, product traceability, consent and an emergency plan.
Risks include bruising, nodules, hypersensitivity (allergic-type reactions), infection, herpes (cold sore) reactivation, inflammation and, rarely, vascular occlusion causing skin necrosis, stroke or blindness.
Treatment is deferred if there is active infection. Please discuss pregnancy, breastfeeding, bleeding disorders, anticoagulants (blood thinners), allergies, immune disease, keloids, previous filler and recent procedures.
Local authorisation is verified; a brand name alone does not establish approval in India.45
