What is the condition?

Power Hyaluronic is a cosmetic Medi-Facial, not a treatment for a disease by itself. It may be considered for skin that feels dry, tight or dehydrated, or looks dull, rough or temporarily less plump.

Persistent redness, acne, eczema, rosacea, pigmentation or another skin problem needs a proper dermatology assessment rather than a facial alone.

How Skinfinity treats this concern

Power Hyaluronic is a non-standard service name, so the name alone does not identify the ingredients, steps or equipment. In general, a topical hyaluronic-acid facial may include gentle cleansing followed by a product containing hyaluronic acid and a moisturiser or mask. Hyaluronic acid is a humectant, meaning it attracts and holds water in the outer layer of the skin; different molecular sizes may behave differently.

This topical care is not an injection or filler treatment. A peer-reviewed review found that topical hyaluronic-acid formulations can improve hydration and some visible signs of ageing, with generally good tolerability in the products studied, but the evidence is specific to each product.1

A manufacturer uses the Power Hyaluronic name for a salon treatment, but we will confirm whether we use that brand before describing its components or method.2

What we confirm with you before treatment

  1. The product or brand, including whether a manufacturer's Power Hyaluronic treatment is used
  2. The full ingredient list
  3. The form of hyaluronic acid and its concentration or molecular-weight claims
  4. Each step and its duration
  5. Any exfoliation, massage, mask, steam, ultrasound, electroporation, oxygen, light or energy device
  6. The delivery route
  7. Staff qualifications
  8. The contraindication and patch-test policy
  9. Expected duration
  10. The manufacturer’s instructions

What outcome can you expect?

Realistic goals are a temporary improvement in the feel of dryness or tightness and a smoother, more comfortable, fresher-looking surface. Fine dehydration lines may appear less noticeable while the skin is well moisturised.

Results vary with the product, your skin condition and home care. This is not a permanent change, and it cannot promise treatment of a skin disease, removal of scars or pigmentation, restoration of lost facial volume, or a guaranteed or instant result. Topical care does not produce the same effect as injectable hyaluronic-acid filler.

Aftercare and long-term support

  1. Follow our product-specific instructions.
  2. Use a gentle cleanser and a bland moisturiser, avoid rubbing or picking treated skin, and pause irritating or exfoliating products if your clinician advises.
  3. Protect treated skin from sunlight with a broad-spectrum sunscreen, shade and protective clothing, and reapply sunscreen as directed.
  4. Regular nourishing food, adequate sleep, enough fluids and an active lifestyle support general health but do not replace treatment or sunscreen.
  5. Ask us when to restart acids, retinoids, bleaching products or other active skincare, because the answer depends on whether the facial includes a peel or another procedure.
  6. Moisturisers can support the skin barrier and reduce dryness.3

Suitability, limitations and safety

Tell your clinician about sensitive or eczema-prone skin, rosacea, current rashes, active infection, open or sunburned skin, known allergies, and all the products or medicines you are using. Treatment is postponed over inflamed, infected, broken or recently irritated skin unless a clinician advises otherwise.

A topical facial may cause short-lived stinging, burning, redness, tightness or irritation. Fragrance, preservatives or other ingredients can cause contact allergy, and heavy occlusive (skin-sealing) products may aggravate acne or folliculitis (inflamed hair follicles). Stop the product and contact the clinic if irritation is strong, spreading, painful, blistered, swollen or persistent. Seek urgent care for breathing difficulty, facial swelling or other signs of a severe allergic reaction.

If needles, filler, needle-free injection or another device are proposed, that is a different medical procedure with different risks, and it must be explained and consented to separately by an appropriately trained clinician. Unusual severe pain, skin turning white, grey or blue, vision change or stroke-like symptoms after an injection require immediate emergency medical attention.4

We do not quote a device model, concentration, session number, injection claim, regulatory approval claim, price or guaranteed result for this service until it has been verified.
