What is the condition?
This is not a disease or a medical diagnosis. It is an assessment of visible features such as uneven colour, dark spots, dryness, oiliness, visible pores, lines, redness or uneven texture.
These signs can have many causes and can overlap with a skin condition. An AI skin test cannot decide what disease a person has, and it should not replace an examination by a qualified clinician.
Skin-diagnosis apps can be inaccurate, and their performance may differ across skin tones and image conditions1.
How Skinfinity treats this concern
We begin with a structured skin assessment using our verified AI-based imaging system or skin-analysis device. The system may capture photographs or measurements and create a report on visible features such as oiliness, dryness, pores, pigmentation, redness and texture.
A team member then explains what the report may mean and what it cannot prove. AI, or artificial intelligence, is software that identifies patterns; it is not a doctor.
The term "5D" is not a universal medical standard, so we tell you the actual device and software used, the measurements it takes and its regulatory status.
If a mark looks suspicious or a concern needs medical evaluation, the next step should be a clinician assessment, dermoscopy or another appropriate test, not a cosmetic package.
What we confirm with you before treatment
- The actual device and software used for the analysis
- The measurements the device records
- The device's regulatory status
- The image-quality requirements for a reliable scan
- How your photographs and data are stored
- The privacy process for your health information
What outcome can you expect?
The realistic goal is a better understanding of the visible features of your skin and a more informed conversation about suitable care.
Repeat assessments may help compare changes when the same device, lighting and conditions are used.
The scan cannot promise clearer or lighter skin, the removal of pores, wrinkles or spots, prevention of skin cancer, or a cure for a skin disease.
A normal-looking report must not delay medical review of a new or changing lesion.

Aftercare and long-term support
- If this was only an imaging assessment, ask whether any product or procedure was applied, and follow the instructions given.
- Use a gentle cleanser and a moisturiser suited to your skin, and avoid picking or harsh scrubbing.
- Protect exposed skin with a broad-spectrum sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher, protective clothing and shade2.
- Keep a simple record of the products you use and any changes you notice, and attend follow-up as advised.
- Any separate peel, facial or light treatment has its own aftercare.
- Ask how your photographs and health information are stored and used.
Suitability, limitations and safety
This service is suitable only as an assessment aid and must not be used as a diagnosis.
Results may be affected by lighting, makeup, camera angle and the skin tones represented in the software's training data.
A new, changing, bleeding, painful or non-healing mark must be assessed by a qualified clinician.
Before any linked procedure, tell the clinic about allergies, medicines, pregnancy or breastfeeding and any previous reactions.
Please tell us about
A new, changing, bleeding, painful or non-healing mark should be assessed by a qualified clinician rather than relying on a scan.
