Mesotherapy

The condition

Mesotherapy is a broad term for small injections into the skin. The exact condition being treated and the product used must be confirmed at consultation.

Skinfinity treatment

After consultation, a licensed clinician may use a verified product for a documented goal. The product, route, dose and authorisation are recorded.

What is the condition?

“Mesotherapy” is a broad, non-standard term. It may be promoted for ageing, hydration, pigmentation, scars, localised fat, cellulite or hair loss, but our service list does not identify the condition being treated. A consultation should first establish your diagnosis and goal.

The evidence is mixed (heterogeneous) because the substances, injection depths, devices and indications differ between studies, and reviews report no standard treatment regimen.123

How Skinfinity treats this concern

Mesotherapy usually means multiple small injections into the skin, although some descriptions include deeper tissue.

The exact product, active ingredient, brand, concentration, dose, route, injection depth, treatment area and regulatory authorisation have not been specified in advance; they will be chosen, verified and explained after your assessment. It should not be assumed to contain platelet-rich plasma (PRP), growth-factor concentrate (GFC), stem cells or another blood-derived preparation.

Before treatment, we record your diagnosis, your intended goal, the verified product with its lot and expiry, the sterile technique, your consent and an emergency and referral plan.1

What we confirm with you before treatment

  1. Your diagnosis and the intended goal of treatment
  2. The exact product, active ingredient and brand
  3. Concentration and dose
  4. Route, injection depth and treatment area
  5. Regulatory authorisation of the exact product in India
  6. Lot/batch number and expiry
  7. Sterile technique and single-use supplies
  8. Clinician credentials
  9. Your written consent
  10. Aftercare, emergency contact and referral plan

What outcome can you expect?

Any benefit depends on the product and the condition, and may be modest or uncertain. We do not promise lightening, fat reduction, scar correction or hair regrowth from the word “mesotherapy” alone.

Your clinician should explain the alternatives, the expected time course and how your progress will be assessed. Results are not guaranteed or permanent.

Aftercare and long-term support

  1. Because the product and route vary, your clinician will give you written, product-specific instructions.
  2. In general, keep injection sites clean, avoid picking or rubbing them, and do not self-treat them.
  3. Contact the clinic for increasing redness, warmth, swelling, drainage, worsening pain, fever, ulceration or unusual colour change.
  4. Seek urgent care for breathing difficulty, widespread swelling, faintness or rapidly worsening symptoms.

Suitability, limitations and safety

This is an invasive service. It should be performed only by an appropriately qualified, licensed clinician working within local law, using sterile single-use supplies, verified labelling, batch and expiry records, informed consent and an emergency plan.

Possible risks include pain, bruising, bleeding, swelling, allergy, infection, pigmentation change, nodules, ulceration and scarring.

Active infection, relevant allergies, bleeding risk or blood-thinning medicines, pregnancy, immune problems and previous reactions require individual review.

We do not inject an unidentified or unapproved substance. The regulatory status of the exact product in India is checked, and evidence for a different formulation should not be assumed to apply.41
