What is the condition?

Our service list confirms that Botox is offered, but not the exact indication or product; these are confirmed at consultation.

In cosmetic practice, botulinum toxin is used for selected movement-related facial lines, such as frown lines, forehead lines or crow’s feet.

“Botox” is often used as a general word and does not by itself identify the brand, strength, authorisation or dose.12

How Skinfinity treats this concern

A licensed clinician injects a verified botulinum neurotoxin into selected muscles to temporarily reduce nerve signals and muscle contraction. This is not a filler, an IV treatment or a blood-derived preparation.

Your clinician assesses your facial movement and any asymmetry, verifies the product and batch, follows the current product-specific preparation instructions, documents the units and injection sites, and arranges follow-up. Units are not interchangeable between different toxin products.31

What we confirm with you before treatment

  1. The exact indication (the movement-related concern)
  2. The exact botulinum toxin product, brand and strength
  3. Batch number
  4. Lawful local use and authorisation of the product
  5. Units and injection sites (units are not converted between brands)
  6. Clinician credentials and training in facial anatomy
  7. Your written consent
  8. Review date and emergency/referral plan

What outcome can you expect?

For appropriate movement-related lines, the aim is temporary softening while preserving natural expression.

Effects often begin in about 3–7 days and reach a fuller effect at around 2 weeks; improvement commonly lasts about 3–4 months, but this varies.

Botox does not add volume or reliably correct static wrinkles (lines present at rest) or loose skin. Results are not guaranteed or permanent.34

Aftercare and long-term support

  1. Follow your product-specific written instructions.
  2. Mild swelling, redness, tenderness, pain, itching or bruising may occur.
  3. Seek immediate care for trouble breathing or swallowing, generalised weakness, speech or vision changes, marked facial droop or other severe symptoms.
  4. Attend the review your clinician recommends rather than repeating treatment automatically.

Suitability, limitations and safety

Treatment requires a qualified, licensed clinician trained in facial anatomy, sterile single-use injection supplies, consent and an emergency and referral plan.

Risks include headache, bruising, localised weakness, eyelid or brow droop, asymmetry, infection and allergy. Rarely, spread of the toxin can cause generalised weakness or difficulty swallowing, speaking or breathing, which can be life-threatening.

We screen for neuromuscular disorders, breathing or swallowing problems, infection, bleeding risk, pregnancy or breastfeeding and interacting medicines.

The exact product and its lawful local use are verified, and doses are never converted between brands.34
